Art Therapy

What does one do when the internet is down at work and only email exists? He resorts to using the obscure Microsoft Paint program on his desk top and exchange emails with the girl, a former art therapist. Lets first break-down therapist the rapist. After a therapy session, Ive always felt mentally raped. (Figuratively, of course.)

A few months back, I forwarded this somewhat humorous email to her which then some how lead to my first Paint creation below.

Apples and Wine
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Share this with women who are good apples, even those who have already been picked!

Now Men.... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

I wished I kept the banter of her interpretation verses mine and will continue search my old deleted emails. My explanations clearly refuted hers and became quite obscure: The man, in fact, did not climb the ladder to circumvent the snake and be above the rotting apples, but actually was a parachutist who fell to earth. During the fall, his limbs became severed by one of his parachute team members wizzing by him at 200 m.p.h. Luckily for him, the apple tree broke his fall and he was able to grab a pitch fork to snag the last remaining piece of fruit.

Any rate, a few weeks later while discussing running. Inspiration again struck! More interpretative, flirtatious banter followed that I didnt save.

Today, however I saved part of the dialogue of my first attempt at a full-color, Paint creation. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Master Piece.

The following is an excerpt where the girl proudly claimed that she could interpret my Masterpiece if she were still practicing some form of Psycho-babble-art-interpretation. (blah, blah, blah.) Here is my response.

How timely as I was just about to explain the Piece.

Eh..hem (clears throat)

With this particular piece, my desire was to expand my venture into Microsofts crude, canned paint program. From my earlier pieces, the "Artist" practiced rudimentary stick figure drawings with flowing bodies and appendages. The Works, although quite impressive in form and meaning, required greater depth beyond the black and white world.

Inspired by the current gray weather and static viewpoint of an elongated, brown roof outside the Artists office window, he longed for environment unlike his current situation. Within the piece, the skies are notably gray and reflective of his current situation, however the lush, rolling green pastures represents a future - not static, flowing, enriched with plant life and life itself, the grazing cattle in the background, some sleeping despite the ominous skies.

Alone and center, situates a colorful house, probably representative of the Artist, Himself. Although only lower storied windows exist, a solitary door is both welcoming and defensive. There is only one way in and the occupant controls the entrance. No curtains or even windows pains obscure the view to the inside the structure, but note the solitary window where only the occupant see the surroundings from within, unless of course the plummeting airplane blown apart from terrorists ejects a passenger who happens to view inside while passing to his death in field.

Now the cattle are interesting

My emails written to her were non-sense,fabrication and for fun. Then, she provided her best crack at my twisted mind.

The solitary window at the apex of the roof may indicate the artist prefers to operate out of his head and approach the world/environment/relationships initially from the thinking/cognitive realm but that he is interested/curious about his external world and interpersonal relationships.

The just-off-centered, placement of the house below the ground line and firmly within the foreground may indicate that artist has a healthy sense of emotional and interpersonal stability and control over his environment and interpersonal relationships. The use of red for the house (a self symbol) may reflect power and mastery needs, as well as a passionate, expressive nature. The blue windows may reflect a peaceful inner world. Lack of window frames or curtains may reflect concerns about being exposed, a willingness to be exposed emotionally or emotionally vulnerable, or exhibitionistic tendencies. The single door could suggest a determined nature in which once the artist has made up his mind there is no stopping him, or a perception or concern about feeling trapped, or a tendency toward rigidity in thinking.

I STILL GOT IT!! ITS AMAZING HOW IT ALL COMES FLOWING BACK! As you can see nothing is written in stone in HTP interpretation.

+++++++++++++++++++POST ENTRY +++++++++++++++++++

On 12/18/05 Clarity25's post directed one to a computer program which instructed one to draw a house then answer a few questions based upon the picture. With some minor changes, the house is nearly identical to above.

For comparison sake, read the intrepretatons by the "girl's" and mine above,in comparison to the computer's listed below.

Based on your drawing and the 10 answers you gave this is a summary of your personality:

Your house tells the world that you ought to be a leader. You are a freedom lover and a strong person. You are shy and reserved. If you've drawn a cross on each of windows, you always want to live alone. Once you have a problem, you need a friend with you. Your life is always full of changes.

When it comes to love, you shut yourself off. It's difficult to win your heart because you have decided to keep your feelings deep inside. You see the world as it is, not as you believe it should be.

You added a flower into your drawing. The flower signifies that you long for love. We also see that you are sensuous, sexual, and privately passionate. You don't think much about yourself.
