Yes, it is Saturday.

According to my journal entry five days ago, I am embracing blind optimism. Work was work nothing too exciting but busy with two new construction projects.

Running was running made all my scheduled runs and have a 16 mile run tomorrow in the rain. Unfortunately, my mp3 player that never worked out of the box and is no longer manufactured (Nike 260 run), has not returned from Warranty Service. Phillips is, however, replacing the player with a newer model but doesnt have the pedometer feature for which I purchased it. In short, it will be a long run without music. Ive considered running on the treadmill in the basement while watching an action packed movie like Van Helsing to occupy my mind.

A pleasant surprise the other day was receiving an unsolicited email from a companys Human Resource Specialist. After reviewing the companys website, it may be a good match but well wait and be blindly optimistic.

The girl: no contact at all except through an email at work - the contents work related which I did not answer because it was not in my realm. I feel as time passes and no contact at all, my feelings for her unfortunately diminish. As my friend Carol consoled that I probably miss the companionship and sex but these arent reasons to stay in a relationship if it is not love. So, the hunt continues.

Now to contemplate the winning Powerball Numbers that I will be drawn tonight! Ahhh...blind optimism.

Ring, ring...Tonia just called. I answer and before I could utter a hello, she interrupts, My life sucks!

Why?

Im five days late.

For work?

For my period.

Sucks to be you. Maybe its the running? She recently measured a 15% body fat. Side note, I'm down to 17% with more to go. I think at 12% women stop having their periods.

A quick discussion of birth control occurs and their effectiveness. Well, this should be interesting. She bought a pregnancy test and her boyfriend just arrived at her place. My immediate thoughts: change hotel reservations if she is because she wont be able to run Chicago nor the Derby Marathon. If she is, I will kind of laugh... Don't know how blind optimism should play a role in her favor? Is it good for her to be pregnant or not?
