Can't a guy get drunk and muse about a house and marriage?

"I told you when we first started to date that I don't cheat."

Dramatic, thoughtful pause then followed with, "Well, you also said that you wanted a house and marriage someday, too."

Earlier in the day after an interview in South Carolina, we spoke at great lengths about two job offers and narrowed the choice to an Arizona job after speaking with a realtor about building a new house. It was a BIG step in the relationship as we both never lived with anyone and she doesn't know about my plans/surprise to propose in Chicago. "I think I'm doing pretty well with the house part!" Laughter follows and silence follows waiting for me to continue and finish the thought. "Can't a guy get drunk and say something about a house and marriage?"
