A dream house

Keeping this one short--

Incredible Thanksgiving dinner I made for the two of us where the only remnants are those stewing for left-over turkey soup.

Saturday, we had a mis-understanding about sex, desires, expectations and my use of the word "routine". The next morning, we talked about it and her hurt feelings. More on this issue later as I think I need to create a private journal to sort out these feelings and recent issues about how living together changes some aspects.

Later the same day, we went house hunting, called the Realtor to see if we could see a house and three houses later -- we're buying a newly constructed home. Ahhh...living the dream! Well, it's not the nice little house down the lane but one that has architectural character -- contemporary arts and craft with a paver brick driveway; carriage garage doors; a large front porch with mountain peak views; laminate floors;a big kitchen adjacent to the great room and informal dining area; an additional entry room; den/bedroom; two bedrooms; a Masterbedroom and two baths. There is also enough architectural detail within that says quality. (Pics to follow later in the week -- same with thanksgiving day) 99.9% I love about the house except for a couple minor details that we could work on over the years.

The builder slashed $30,000 off the price and we asked them to throw in a fenced back yard, too! They are! We meet with the lender tomorrow to soothe our nerves and sign the contract on Tuesday. Who knows? Santa's Christmas presents could be the movers delivering our boxes?

Until Karen finds employment, things are going to be pretty, no make it extremely tight in terms of spending. Earlier, I wasn't too concerned about finances but reality is smacking upside the head -- What did you do? Buying a house so expensive without a job?

A month earlier or so, I wrote about how I was at the top of the hill of a roller coaster cresting the first hill to begin the screaming ride down through a series of twist, turns, dips and bumps -- isn't that the truth! I suppose I need to appreciate the good fortune finally coming my way...
